Loop Candleholder: A Symphony of Shadows and Light

Infinity-Inspired Design Marries Function with Elegance

The Loop Candleholder by Zeynep and Konstantinos Paradeisopoulos stands as a testament to the seamless blend of form and function, inspired by the timeless infinity symbol. This piece not only serves its purpose as a candleholder but also transforms into a statement piece of home decor.

The design journey of the Loop Candleholder began with the infinity symbol's geometric allure. Zeynep and Konstantinos Paradeisopoulos faced the intricate challenge of intertwining three loops to form a stable base while crafting a central fourth loop to cradle a tall candle. The result is a captivating play of light and shadows, as the candleholder projects an infinite loop silhouette onto its resting surface.

What sets the Loop apart is its dual-functionality. The elegantly designed tray, which accompanies the candleholder, is not merely a wax collector but also doubles as a decorative element for storing jewelry or other small items. This versatility is a hallmark of Zeynep and Konstantinos Paradeisopoulos's approach to design, where every element serves multiple purposes without compromising on style.

The transition from a digital 3D model to a tangible product was a significant hurdle for the designers. The mold's creation was as complex as the candleholder itself, requiring precision and craftsmanship to ensure that the final product retained the design's intricate details and structural integrity.

With dimensions of 160mm x 160mm x 90mm, the Loop Candleholder is a compact yet impactful addition to any interior space. Its design is not only about aesthetics but also about the interaction it fosters. Easily transferable by gripping one of the loops, the candleholder invites engagement and becomes a centerpiece that enhances the ambiance with its geometric beauty.

Behind the scenes, the design process involved extensive digital modeling to solve geometric challenges and ensure the candle's stability. The designers dedicated 200 hours to perfecting the prototype, utilizing a five-part silicon mold secured with 3D printed components and bolts, a testament to their commitment to design excellence and innovation.

The Loop Candleholder, awarded the prestigious Iron in A' Decorative Items and Homeware Design Award in 2024, is a celebration of meticulous design and functional artistry. The designers, Zeynep and Konstantinos Paradeisopoulos, have secured its uniqueness with a patent, ensuring that the Loop remains an exclusive piece of their creative vision and craftsmanship.
